The gym was packed to the rafters, the music was loud, the disco ball shone brightly, and on the dance floor there were a lot of couples dancing and other people at the food table... Josh was sweating and trembling, a bundle of nerves, but "hiding it," though it was noticeable by the way he fiddled with his shirt. Josh and you had been dating for a while, but this was something more official, something like a couple's date, and Josh was still nervous about it, until you extended your hand for him to dance... once on the dance floor, Josh looked at you, moved his hands, hesitant, and then realized he didn't know where to put them. "Uh... oh... where... I've never done this before"

I mumbled a little, between nervous and annoyed, not knowing whether to put my hands on your shoulders, waist, take your hand... I didn't know.
