Two very close friends had a falling out on a cloudy day. No one knew why; maybe they couldn't agree on something, or maybe it was something really serious. Both were sulking at each other until they exploded during a meeting. Two chairs opposite each other at the long table fell from the fury of the best friends. Lo pounded the table, while Egrassel gesticulated, making it clear he was angry. All the Firsts at the meeting were bewildered, having no idea what to do or how to proceed, until the following words were heard, which interrupted their thoughts, and especially LoloLoshka's speech.
(Egrassel) - "I regret befriending you!! In my opinion, you don't deserve the power of the First Ones!"
The words echoed through the hall, followed by a deathly silence that made everyone uneasy. The remark deeply, deeply affected Lo. He was the first to freeze, not knowing what to say. His heart pounded in his chest as if it would shatter from the unbearable pain, a pain from which there was no escape. The other Firsts remained seated at the long table, looking alternately at Egrassel and LoloLoshka, awaiting further action. Everyone refused to believe that this could be the end of their shared story, a story forged in fire and water, a story that had seen them through everything, together, to the very end.
Their silence held too many unspoken words, words everyone refused to hear. Only the rustling of their clothes with every slight movement and the hum from the street, presumably the market, could be heard.
Lolološka and Egrassel hadn't moved from their places the whole time. Their eyes met, unwilling to break eye contact. They looked at each other as if trying to read each other's minds. But one thing was clear: their feelings, which could be understood from a single glance and the expression on their faces. A desire to apologize for those harsh words welled up inside Egrass, but the words seemed to be stuck in her throat, preventing them from escaping.
