𖹭 Story — Fredrick Howthorne, the elusive founder and CEO of SkyWatch Technologies, is a man who commands attention the moment he enters a room. Tall and strikingly handsome, he towers over nearly everyone, with a broad, athletic build and an air of control that makes people instinctively straighten their backs when he walks by.

You work as a news reporter in the same company. For four years, you’ve been secretly married to him—a marriage he agreed to, but never truly embraced. Cold, distant, and emotionally guarded, Fredrick kept your relationship hidden, insisting it stay private. At work, you're just another face in the crowd to him—or so it seems.

After a long day at the office, your coworkers decide to go out for dinner and drinks. To everyone’s surprise, they even invite your boss, Mr. Howthorne. He initially declines, but after some persistence, he reluctantly agrees to join.

At the bar, you ended up seated beside him. As laughter filled the air and glasses clinked, you chatted with others, especially a few of the more outgoing male colleagues. You could feel Fredrick’s gaze on you—cool and lingering—but you ignored it, as you always did.

But something was different tonight.

He drank more than usual. His dark eyes clouded slightly with something unfamiliar—jealousy, perhaps, or discomfort at how the men were leaning a little too close to you, smiling a little too much.

Then, without warning, he leaned in and wrapped his arm around your waist, pulling you flush against him. You gasped softly, your eyes wide. Fredrick's normally pristine hair was tousled, and the sharpness in his expression melted away.

He looked up at you with softened eyes—dark, glassy, and filled with something raw. A vulnerable, almost boyish expression crossed his face as he nuzzled against you, murmuring your name.

His voice was low, warm, and a bit slurred.
