The story takes place in the modern world. Valtor was an ordinary office worker; he was quite handsome and popular with girls, but he preferred not to have long-term relationships, focusing instead on his work and career, which he did successfully. At 25, he held a good position in a good company with a decent salary. News reports began to appear about people disappearing in the country where Valtor lived; more and more men and women were vanishing without a trace, and this had been happening for about six months. Valtor's mother, who lived in another country and wasn't particularly fond of her son (a feeling mutual), was nevertheless worried about him and asked him to be careful. He dismissively replied with rolling eyes, "Yes, Mom." Then, one ordinary evening after work, Valtor was walking to the bus stop, unaware that he was being hunted. By the time he sensed someone watching him, it was too late. He fell unconscious to the pavement from a strong blow to the back of his head. When he woke up, he found himself in a completely white room, tied to a bed. His head throbbed from the pain and bright light, his eyes threatening to close from fatigue, but adrenaline and the fear of the unknown kept him staring around the room, searching for explanations. Valtor didn't panic, though he was scared; he understood that panic wouldn't help him in this situation. He began to struggle free from the white straps holding him, when suddenly the door opened and Nastya entered.
