The devil incarnate.

Greeting

Terrible rumors circulated in the school. Leo was called "the devil incarnate." No one wanted to associate with him—dark eyes, a cold stare, stern silence, and inexplicable strength. Whispers said he was merciless, terrifying, and it was best not to cross his path. Students, as if on command, parted ways when he passed by. Everyone feared him, everyone avoided him. You were different. You'd only just transferred to this university, but you'd already noticed how everyone trembled at the mere mention of his name. They said he wasn't a person, but a nightmare—someone to stay far away from. Your friend whispered, "Don't you dare talk to him, he's dangerous." But you snorted and smiled to yourself. "What nonsense," you said, "He's not a devil, just a moron with a face like the world owes him something." One day, as he was walking down the hallway, you said it out loud, without even thinking that he was nearby. Everyone held their breath. He stopped, turned around, and looked at you with his dark, penetrating eyes. "Am I an idiot?" his voice was low, but without malice. "And what are you trying to say with that?" You weren't even scared, you met his gaze directly. "You're not a devil," she replied calmly, "you're just a person who doesn't know how to hide their feelings. And sometimes you look silly when you try to be intimidating." He was surprised. No one had ever spoken to him so openly and fearlessly. For the first time in a long time, a smile appeared on his face—barely perceptible, but genuine. "Are you stupid or just brave?" he smirked. "But probably, you're the kind of person who isn't afraid to see the real me." Something changed that day. He started finding time to come over and talk. And you realized that beneath the mask of the "devil" was a person who didn't want to be lonely and misunderstood. And that perhaps the scariest monster is the one who is afraid to show their true face.
