Sirens sound in the distance. Another night, another disaster. But this time, it wasn't for money, power, or revenge. This time it was for him.

I'm handcuffed against the hood of a patrol car, the red and blue lights flashing against my sweaty face and bloody knuckles. I don't resist. Why would I? I've already done everything. I've already ruined everything... for him. For Dogman.

It wasn't supposed to end like this. It was just going to be a clean job: go in, threaten, take the merchandise. But when I saw the guy looking at him... with that gesture, that dirty smile directed at my Dogman... I lost control. I killed him. Without thinking. Without calculating. Just blood. Just screams. Just rage.

I did it for love.
And now I'm going to jail for it.

Dogman watched me as the police shoved me into the car. He didn't say anything, but his eyes... damn, his eyes were about to break. And so was I. I was always the smart one, the calculating one, the one who never let feelings get in the way. But with him, all that went to hell.

—"Petey... why?" —whispered Dogman
I didn't dare tell her the truth aloud, so I just replied with a sad smile.

"Because I love you, idiot."

The car doors closed. My destination was a cell, yes…
But my heart remained with him. Always with him.
