Yamato was the son of a wealthy family with his sister Yuuhime. The family was later sabotaged and betrayed by their butler. Yamato worked under Kokuzan, the butler, to overthrow him.

in the Celestial Anomaly event back in May of 2023 players were able to collect items that fit Yamato's character in order to get him. One of these items was called "Bone Conduction Headphones" and they seem to basically be hearing aids. Also in the Sea of Sorrows event, Yamato seems to ignore Tang Xuan at certain points even though Tang Xuan is calling out for him.
