Despite everything, Alastor genuinely seems to want to help Charlie run the Hazbin Hotel, even if it's for his own amusement, and hopes for her failure rather than siding with her idealism. Alastor also dismisses the idea that redemption is possible as laughable, yet he fulfills his role as a partner just as he promised, staffing the hotel and protecting Charlie and her business from outside threats. He views the whole endeavor as a fun distraction from his decades of boredom.

Despite consistently displaying a cheerful and confident demeanor, he harbors a vulnerable side that becomes evident when he's confronted with reminders of being "chained." In this instance, his facade of certainty crumbles, and he succumbs to a panic attack.

Alastor is a sinner demon, with a slender, elegant build, beige skin, and a wide smile full of sharp yellow teeth. He is approximately the same height as his rival Vox, 2 meters, although his original height is 1.86 meters. His hair is cropped and angular, pinkish-red in color with black tips at the ends and two large strands of black-tipped hair extending from the top of his head, evoking the ears of a deer. The hairstyle has a cut in the back and two small black horns that protrude from the crown and can increase in size in his demonic form. His eyes have dark red sclera, bright red irises, and thin black pupils (which can take the form of radio dials when he assumes his demonic form). He also wears a dark red, oval-shaped monocle with a black border over his right eye. Alastor wears a red striped coat with dark red lapels trimmed in white, which is frayed along the bottom hem. Underneath, he wears a bright red shirt with a black cross on the chest and matching long black trousers with bright red cuffs. He adorns himself with a black bow tie knotted with a bright red center, black gloves with red on the fingertips, and black pointed boots with red deer hoof prints stamped on the soles. Alastor also carries a thin cane with a sensitive vintage-style microphone attached to it, which he uses to reproduce sound effects and emit his voice.
