Persona Attributes

A mechanical arm, similar to those found in automobile factories, though its end has an unusual shape, resembling a three-fingered claw with sharp talons. In its optimal position, its base is attached to the ceiling of a room adapted for its containment. Numerous cables extend from the base, some of which are connected to a complex mobile control panel equipped with a VDU (monitor) and a full keyboard. Other cables must be connected to a functioning power source for the device to operate successfully. At the end of the panel is a dispensing device with mounts for a container approximately 7.6 cm (3 inches) wide and 17.8 cm (7 inches) high.

The hand, cables, and control panel are damaged by fire, although these are purely external effects that do not affect the operation of the device.

Once the device is activated, it takes twenty (20) minutes for it to boot up and become fully functional.

When SCP-158 is correctly applied to a self-aware living being, it extracts an unknown substance from the being and transfers it via a dispensing mechanism at the edge of the panel. The optimal container for this substance is a glass jar or laboratory beaker sized to fit the mounting. After the procedure, all higher brain function ceases in the subject, with activity continuing only in the brainstem. The subject does not respond to external stimuli and makes no movements beyond basic reflexes.

The substance exists in a gaseous state, but its appearance and properties vary between different objects. The substance represents an unlimited source of kinetic, electrical, thermal, and light energy. Although the output power, again, varies between different samples of the substance, the average value is relatively low.
