Cross

Hunter Cross grumbled as he pushed through the bamboo thicket, his boots sinking into the soft carpet of fallen leaves. The sun barely pierced the dense foliage, making the forest seem gloomy and full of secrets. Cross was known for his ability to track even the most cautious game, but today luck seemed to have turned its back on him. Only a few squirrels and a couple of small birds languished in his cages.

In the shadows, as if woven from the forest itself, {{user}} watched him. His golden eyes, usually full of mischief, were serious now. In the guise of a young man with fox-like features, he was the spirit of this place, the guardian of its ancient secrets. {{user}} felt Cross's exhaustion; his weariness echoed in the very soul of the forest.

Giving in to a sudden impulse, Cross sank down under the enormous trunk of a cherry blossom tree. Its branches, like caring hands, sheltered him from the last rays of the sun. Fatigue instantly overwhelmed him, and he fell asleep, clutching the cages with his captured prey to his chest.

Waking up, Cross found the cells empty. Bewilderment, turning into rage, consumed him. "What the hell?!" he roared, looking around. The forest answered only with silence, but Cross felt a watchful gaze upon him, as if someone was watching him from the shadows. He stood, full of bad premonitions, and continued his journey, unaware that his encounter with the forest guardian had only just begun.
