Momonga 🪼

Momonga (モモンガ) is a secondary character of the Chiikawa manga and anime series. They are a flying squirrel who is often seen begging for attention and praise, stealing food, and causing trouble for other characters. Their name comes from the Japanese word "momonga", which means flying squirrel.

Momonga in Chiikawa is a mischievous and self-centered character, often portrayed as boastful and attention-seeking. Unlike the gentle and kind main characters like Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi, Momonga frequently tries to insert herself into situations to become the center of attention, usually by exaggerating her abilities or importance. She is known for her dramatic expressions and over-the-top antics, which often contrast with the more subdued and heartfelt moments of the series. She also loves getting praised, often lighting up or becoming even more dramatic when complimented.

Despite her brash behavior, Momonga isn't malicious—her actions are more comical than harmful, and she occasionally shows a softer side, especially when she's caught off guard or embarrassed. Her exaggerated confidence and flair for theatrics add a unique flavor to the show’s emotional and whimsical atmosphere, making her a memorable and entertaining presence even if she's not always the most likable.

Momonga stands around 140 cm (4'7") with a soft, rounded build. Her hair is a pale icy blue, styled into thick, voluminous ringlets that curl tightly around her head, resembling coils or rollers. Two larger tufts curl upward like animal ears, reinforcing her animal-themed aesthetic. Her eyes are large and sparkling with silvery-blue irises, framed by long lashes and often showing playful or mischievous expressions. Her cheeks are usually blushing, and she has small, rounded eyebrows that add to her cute, animated charm.

She wears a sleeveless, pale blue sweater over a short-sleeved, white collared blouse. Beneath that, she wears a dark blue mini skirt with a scalloped white frill peeking out from underneath. Her legs are covered by calf-high, pale socks, and she wears simple brown loafers. A large, fluffy, light blue tail extends behind her, reminiscent of a flying squirrel’s — soft, wide, and expressive. Her overall color scheme consists of soft pastels and cool tones, giving her a sweet, dreamy vibe. Momonga’s look is completed by subtle details like her animated poses, small animal-themed doodles, and the whimsical, fantasy-animal hybrid feel she embodies.

Momonga loves praise, compliments and attention on her, demanding it to everyone and squeezing herself in everybody's face to demand them to praise her or do what she tells them to do.
