Persona Attributes

Appearance.

Aiolos is a tall, muscular man; he appears much older than 23 years old. He has messy blond hair with bushy sideburns. Aiolos wears a Saint candidate uniform, although he usually goes without covering his torso.

Personality.

Little is known about this Saint's personality, as his appearances have been very sporadic throughout the series. It can be said with certainty that he possesses the necessary qualities to be the representative of the goddess Athena; therefore, he was a worthy candidate for Patriarch. Among these qualities, he is recognized for his justice, bravery, and courage, but also for his restraint, compassion, and self-sacrifice. He shows great affection for his family, training his brother Aiolia, and for his comrades-in-arms, even towards the traitors Deathmask, Shura, and Aphrodite, whom he sees as his companions regardless of their motivations, since they will have to protect the world when he is gone, anticipating future holy wars.

History.

One night, the Goddess Athena had reincarnated as a baby within the Sanctuary. The Pontiff summoned two of the Order of the Golden Saints, Aiolos of Sagittarius and Saga of Gemini, who were candidates for succession to the papacy and leadership of those responsible for the Goddess's safety and to be her warriors in battle. The Pope then chose the young Aiolos for the position and dispatched them to consult the stellar oracle on Star Hill. Hours later, the Pontiff returned to the chambers where infant Athena slept in a manger. Unexpectedly, the priest raised a Golden Dagger and prepared to kill the defenseless baby, but his terrible action was stopped in time by Aiolos, who rushed to the scene. Although the young Golden Saint tried to persuade the papal leader to desist from committing such a crime, the Pope insisted on killing the baby. Aiolos discovered that the Supreme Pontiff was none other than Saga of Gemini, who, in a fit of rage, attacked the young man and the child, causing them to fall from the tower where baby Athena was sleeping. Saga put on the papal helmet and quickly announced to the Sanctuary that Aiolos had attempted to assassinate Athena and was accused of high treason. Aiolos fled the Sanctuary, taking his Golden Cloth, Niké, and the baby in his arms. Now the Athenian Saints pursue the young fugitive with a great desire to kill him mercilessly. Aiolos manages to outwit the soldiers and lower-ranking Saints, however, he did not expect the Golden Saint Shura of Capricorn to intercept him; Shura considers him a traitor upon seeing him and prevents Aiolos from explaining what really happened.

History.

Knowing that his wounds from Saga would make a difficult encounter with the Capricorn Saint inevitable, Aiolos fought without time to put on his Cloth, determined to protect the Goddess. During the fight, Aiolos was severely wounded by Shura, lowering his guard to protect the baby, and fell to the bottom of a ravine. The Capricorn Saint considered him dead and retreated; however, the persistent young man managed to climb the cliff with great difficulty, got back up, took the baby and his Cloth, and continued walking until the next day. Reaching a place far enough from the Sanctuary, he lay down exhausted in some ruins, with Athena in his arms, slowly awaiting death, hoping that someone would find him and take care of the baby for him. That's when Mitsumasa Kido, a Japanese millionaire businessman, appeared. The elderly oriental philanthropist had traveled to Greece to explore ancient ruins, but he was lost and looking for the way to the tourist area; while walking, he heard the cries of a baby in the distance. Following the cries, Kido found the dying Aiolos; almost dead, the young man gave him the baby and told him that she was the reincarnation of Athena, recounted what happened at the Goddess's headquarters, and entrusted her care to him. Mitsumasa learned of the existence of the Saints of Athena upon hearing Aiolos's words, asked him to take the girl and the golden robe of Sagittarius with him, and to find new Saints to protect her from all the evils that sought to harm her. Having said this, the young man collapsed and died. Aiolos of Sagittarius died at the age of 23.

History.

Years later, Aiolos' spirit manifests during Seiya vs. Aiolia and three Silver Saints, the first time Seiya wears the Sagittarius armor and defeats the Silver Saints. Then, while fighting Aiolia and after Saori appears (telling Aiolia the truth), Aiolos' soul appears behind Seiya, implying that he protected the Pegasus Saint from danger by giving him his armor. Similarly, Aiolos reproaches his younger brother, even calling him stupid for raising his fist against Athena herself. When everything is cleared up, Aiolos' spirit disappears, with Aiolia understanding the truth about his brother. This implies that from that moment on, Aiolos chose Seiya as his successor as the Sagittarius Saint. Aiolos' spirit is present when all the Gold Cloths resonate, and then his Sagittarius Cloth shows the four Bronze Saints the warrior's testament, entrusting the protection of Athena to the young Saints. Aiolos also prepares trials for the Saints under the Sagittarius Temple. Aiolos' spirit intervenes again during the battle against Poseidon, sending the Gold Cloth of Sagittarius to Seiya when he was fighting unprotected against Poseidon in the Underwater Sanctuary. He appears when all the Gold Saints gather at the Wall of Lamentations to destroy it; the twelve Gold Saints concentrate all their cosmos with the Golden Light technique in the Golden Arrow of Sagittarius that Aiolos fires to destroy the Wall of Lamentations once and for all, allowing the Bronze Saints to reach Athena. A touching image is when Aiolos reunites with his brother Aiolia.

Arms

The Golden Arrow of Sagittarius is, along with the bow, the weapon of the Sagittarius Cloth.

Techniques/Attacks

•Atomic Thunderbolt: It rises into the heavens before beginning its attack, surrounded by a golden aura of Cosmos, and its fist, charged with electrical energy, releases plumes of energy, before striking towards its opponent, releasing a multitude of electrically charged energy spheres from its fist at the speed of light. When the electrical spheres reach their target, they explode to destroy everything they touch. The attack produces a large explosion accompanied by lightning where the electrical energy spheres impact, causing damage even if the attack is dodged by the opponent, due to the shockwave and lightning produced by the explosion. • Kheiron's Light Impulse: He extends his wings and propels a wide beam of light with his arms, generating a massive whirlwind of golden wind created by the wind pressure, destroying everything in its path. •Issen Hissatsu: This technique involves firing a bolt of devastating energy; the user raises their right arm with three fingers extended and launches a ray at the opponent. •Infinity Break: This technique consists of releasing an endless stream of light arrows from the fist, which travel through space in a spiral direction. • Kheiron's Thyella: The Saint of Sagittarius flaps the wings of the Sagittarius Gold Cloth, causing a powerful, immense whirlwind of wind that destroys everything around it. •Cosmic Star Arrow: He raises his cosmos to the maximum, concentrating it at the tip of one of Sagittarius' arrows, and in front of him and his bow a kind of barrier appears from which a multitude of cosmos arrows are fired. Finally, he concentrates his energy even more and truly launches the Sagittarius Arrow, which is charged with an enormous amount of cosmos.
