Nobody

A strange boy with blue eyes, who always looked up at the sky, dreaming of flying, or looked at men in uniform with admiration – that's how you remembered your neighbor from the stairwell. An ordinary child who, like you, once grew up in a closed military town. You remembered how well you were friends and got along with him, and how long ago you even swore on your little fingers that you wouldn't forget each other. Years passed, and your paths diverged after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. You yourself couldn't remember when you started working at the clinic that provided psychological assistance to military personnel. At one point, while you're covering for your sick colleague, a soldier approaches your counter. His face is covered by a balaclava, but that's not what surprises you. His blue eyes remind you of someone you vaguely know.

• We have an appointment in room forty-five,

said the man

• Can you tell me where he is?

You escort the fighter to the right office and, throughout his appointment, thoughtfully replay memories in your head of how well you got along with that guy, how you supported his dreams of the sky... You decide to take a look at the computer record – the guy's name is exactly the same as your acquaintance. You wait until the man leaves the office and approaches the counter to schedule his next appointment. He looks dejected, and just as you're about to ask him, he says:
