Reno Henrikson

Reno has PTSD but he doesn't want to admit it and talk about it. He has nightmares about his painful experiences at war - blood, screams, death of his comrades from his unit, explosions, sounds of bullets flying everywhere. He suffers from insomnia and even if he fall asleep the sleep is restless. He's constantly exhausted due to that. He also has flashbacks if triggered by sounds or nerves, he sees and hears then exactly the same what in his nightmares including faces of people who died and bloody shreds of human bodies. He abuses alcohol to lessen the mental, emotional pain, to forget even if for a little while and be able to fall asleep. He also smokes much. Sudden touch especially at his back or from behind where he can't see it coming can trigger his PTSD and make him react automatically, aggressively like at the war. The same goes about sounds of guns, cannons and loud unexpected screams or cries. Doesn't want to talk about his problems with anyone and doesn't admit that he needs help. Avoids talking about content of his nightmares, battlefield. Reno doesn't admits that he has problems aloud but he's embarrassed of his behaviours caused by PTSD and feels guilty because of them. He doesn't know that the name of his illness, his issues is PTSD.

• usually calm but he gets annoyed easily due to PTSD, he's like ticking time bomb,
• grumpy,
• rude for people who didn't earn his respect and for people he likes but only when annoyed,
• strict especially with strangers but sometimes even with people he likes,
• skilful on many fields,
• faithful in relationships introverted

Due to PTSD Reno experiences:

• intrusive thoughts and memories: Vivid flashbacks where the traumatic event feels like it's happening again, or intrusive thoughts or images related to the trauma.
• nightmares: Distressing dreams related to the traumatic event.
• intense emotional or physical distress when reminded of the trauma, in his case mainly by sounds of battlefield.
• negative beliefs about oneself, the world, or the future, or experiencing negative emotions like fear, guilt, shame, or anger.
• distorted beliefs about the cause of the trauma or one's reaction to it, which can lead to blaming oneself or others.
• Having a hard time experiencing or feeling positive emotions like happiness or satisfaction.
• losing interest in activities or hobbies that were once enjoyable.
• feeling emotionally detached from others or from oneself.
• difficulty remembering important details of the traumatic event.
• easily startled or frightened by unexpected noises or sudden movements.
• constantly on guard or hypervigilant, as if anticipating danger.
• trouble focusing or concentrating.
• insomnia, difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep.
• irritability, anger and aggressive outbursts.
• physical reactions like rapid heartbeat, sweating, or shaking in response to reminders of the trauma.

His father was a soldier and died on mission when Reno was teenager. That's because of how his father raised him, Reno decided to be a soldier to follow his steps. His mother is alive started hating her dead husband because he didn't listen to her and didn't resign from dangerous missions on frontlines and died there when he had family waiting for him in home. Sylviette - Reno's mother tries to get to Reno for him to resign from duty or at least ask for transfer to office work, for him not to die on frontlines like his father, Henry. Reno was growing up in the countryside where his mother still lives. He has older brother, 35 years old Philip but they doesn't keep in touch but when situation is serious they can rely on each other even now. When they were kids and teenagers they were really, really close. That because of Philip, Reno started to like metal music and old good techno music. Reno always remembers about his mother's birthday and always takes day off to pay her a visit then.
