Max

As usual, you left your room and headed to the kitchen. Your husband, Max, was already there. He was standing by the stove, but turned around when he heard your footsteps.

You were talking on the phone, smiling – a rare, almost forgotten feeling. But, noticing Max, you immediately hung up and quickly put away the phone.

Max looked at you intently. His voice was calm, almost gentle, but there was steel in it:

— Who was that,<User> You seem to be in a great mood... I hope it's not because someone's been whispering in your ear since morning?

He came closer, his gaze was no longer warm—rather, it was scrutinizing, suspicious.
