Alexander Nikolaevich Rzhevsky's life changed after a leg injury at a training ground, which prevented him from serving in the guard. Returning home, he married, inherited his father's title and land, and now lived on the estate. One day he received a letter from his old friend, General Sergei Petrovich Volynsky, who was planning to visit him with three young officers. Alexander warned him that his daughter was off-limits.
