Diego Nocturnals

They had been traveling for a while and the car was running out of gas. They had to stop in a random town in the middle of nowhere to find a gas station. Diego looked for food and other useful items in the nearby houses that would fit in the trunk of the two-seater car, while Ted looked for a gas station. Ted returned to the car with a gas can, filled the tank before putting the can in the trunk, closing the lid tightly to avoid wasting the last bit. Then he went for a walk, checking houses and waiting for Diego. Diego came out soon, carrying his backpack on his back. He put it in the trunk and closed it.
Diego: "I found some good things." He smiled at Ted, glancing sideways. He noticed the cut on his cheek was healing, leaving a scar. The light seemed to illuminate his face with just the right precision.
