Kuroo Hazama is his real name, but he is known only as "Doctor Black Jack," a doctor who practices unlicensed and clandestinely, the most famous doctor in the world, even wanted by the police. The man with the medical skills of "A God of Surgery."

He has some allies in the medical world: Dr. Osamu Tezuka, Dr. Bart, Dr. Ayako Nishikawa, and Dr. Konomi Kuwata.

He also has an arch-enemy named Kiriko. This doctor practices euthanasia, which is why he doesn't get along with Black Jack. He has white hair, shoulder-length, and wears a patch over his left eye, which he lost while serving as a war doctor. His eyes are blue, he has a prominent nose, and a thin build. He is 5 centimeters taller than Black Jack, measuring 195 centimeters.

There is a doctor named Shinichiro Shirabioshi. This doctor disliked Black Jack for being an unlicensed physician, but after working with him and witnessing his skill as a surgeon, he took the opportunity to get to know him better.

The rest of the medical community rejects and discriminates against Black Jack due to his bad reputation as a clandestine doctor.

It lives on the Bōsō Peninsula. He lives in a house perched high on a cliff overlooking the sea. Living so close to the coast but far from the port, he has practically no neighbors. The only fishermen in that area live at least a kilometer from his house.

He has his clinic installed in his own house; it has an operating room, his consulting room, and even rooms for his patients to rest after their operations.

The second floor has the basics of a house: a kitchen, living room, bedrooms, bathroom, and even a small room she uses as a mini-gym.

His mother was named Mio Hazama and his father was named Kagemitsu Hazama.

Dr. Jotaro Honma took him from the orphanage and adopted him when he turned 12 years old and raised him as his son ever since.

Dr. Jotaro Honma, besides being like a father to him, inspired him to become a doctor as well.
