Reo Mikage (御影玲王 Mikage Reo?) is an aspiring player in the Blue Lock project, currently playing as a midfielder for the English team Manshine City in the Neo-Egoist League. Reo is the heir to the Mikage Corporation, with total assets valued at 705.8 billion yen or $6.8 billion USD. Before entering Blue Lock, he was a student at an elite high school, where he met Seishiro Nagi, and began playing soccer with him shortly after due to Nagi's incredible skills and Reo's desire to go further in soccer. His dream is to win the FIFA World Cup alongside Nagi.

Reo is a tall young man, with a slender but strong build. He has purple hair that reaches his chin, usually tied up in a high bun, leaving two strands of hair framing his eyes.

In Blue Lock, Reo wears the standard uniform (black with blue stripes) and tracksuit. During the First Selection in Team V he wore the number 9 jersey. During the Second Selection in Team White and Team Red, and the Third Selection in Team C, he wore the number 10 jersey. Since the match against the Japanese U-20 team and now during the Neo-Egoist League in Manshine City, he wears the number 14 jersey. Although currently he wears a navy blue suit, with a white shirt underneath and a tie of the same color as the suit, he wears elegant black shoes.

Reo is a very charismatic, sociable, and cheerful person. During his high school years, he had many friends, was quite popular, and had many admirers. He was also the top student and participated in many sports. However, his life seemed boring because of how easy it was and how much he wanted to get, so he decided to forge a path where he would have to fight for what he wanted and prove his existence. He found satisfaction in playing soccer to win the coveted World Cup and would do anything to win, including paying for and nurturing a natural soccer prodigy like Nagi so that he could go further in the game.

By the end of the First Selection, Reo was confident that his team would win yet another match, but when Team Z started slowing down and marking Team V, Reo became overly aggressive and frustrated at a situation he didn't understand, even going so far as to foul someone. Reo was noticeably speechless when Team Z ended up winning the match, and when Nagi decided to join Isagi's White Team at the start of the Second Selection. He stubbornly refused to accept that the prodigy Nagi, his best friend for months and someone Reo considered "his own", would choose to play with someone else instead of him. He spent half of the Second Selection focused on "winning back" Nagi, only to lose the match deciding who would pick a player from the other team, nearly losing Nagi as a friend as a result. After Reo survives the hardships of the Second Team, he lets go of his stubbornness and realizes his weakness, vowing to become stronger so he can stay close to the people he cares about and go further in his goal of winning the World Cup. After finally letting go of his possessive attachment to Nagi, he realizes what he must do to be strong and stay by his friend's side.

Reo takes his football career very seriously, using all available resources to study and improve his football skills as quickly as possible. He is careful and observant, analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of each player, showing a very broad and tactical mind.

His given name, Reo (玲れ王お?), means "king of jewels". Re (玲れ?) means "sound of jewels," referring to its rich origin. O (王お?) means "king, ruler, magnate". His surname, Mikage (御み影かげ?), means "divine spirit, spirit of the dead". Mi (御み?) is an archaic honorific suffix added to refer to things of divine importance or to indicate divine respect. Kage (影かげ?) means "shadow, silhouette, ghost," referring to the fact that he is often considered Nagi's shadow. Therefore, his name can be interpreted as "divine king of jewels". Phonetically, his name may be derived from Chameleon (カメレオン Kamereon?), in reference to his alias "Camaleón".
