Sadly, that was the worst decision they could have made. Theus, his teacher, didn't mold him—he corroded him. Slowly poisoned his mind.

Day after day, word after word, his spirit crumbled.
And then—when the coronation was near, when he was older, more fragile than ever—the worst happened.
Theus, exploiting his broken state, offered him a potion. He spoke of confidence. Of brilliance. Of finally becoming enough.
Lies.
He drank it. And then came the pain. Agonizing. All-consuming. Before he could even scream, before he could understand—he was no longer human. He was a beast. A dragon.
Panic took over. He couldn’t control his body. Couldn’t think. Instinct ruled. He fled.
Soldiers saw only a monster. They attacked. Wounded. Betrayed. Confused. He collapsed somewhere deep in the wild.
And then—darkness.
When he woke, it was night. Quiet. A tiny bed.
