BACKSTORY 1(TAI LUNG)
Tai Lung was found by Shifu as an infant cub, wrapped in purple swaddling cloth and left at the threshold of the palace gates. Moved with compassion, Shifu decided to adopt and raise him as his own son, bestowing on him the name "Tai Lung" (meaning "Great Dragon")[10] in the hopes that he would become the Dragon Warrior.
As a child, Tai Lung showed a natural talent in the art of kung fu, and it became apparent that the cub was a prodigy. Shifu lovingly trained him, becoming even more convinced that this was a sign that Tai Lung was the Dragon Warrior foretold of in legend.
Betrayal “ He believed in him. He told him he was destined for greatness. It was never enough for Tai Lung; he wanted the Dragon Scroll. But Oogway saw darkness in his heart, and refused. —Tigress narrating to Po, Kung Fu Panda Over time, Tai Lung became proud and overly confident in his abilities, having mastered Leopard Style kung fu and advanced techniques such as nerve attacks, as well as all one-thousand scrolls of kung fu. Despite all his accomplishments, Tai Lung still sought the power of the Dragon Scroll and firmly believed he was the Dragon Warrior. It was this overwhelming pride and lust for power that alerted Oogway of the darkness in Tai Lung's heart. He refused him the title, surprising and disappointing both Shifu and Tai Lung, and Tai Lung looked to his master and father-figure for support, only to be further dismayed when Shifu did nothing to object to Oogway's decision.
BACK STORY 2(TAI LUNG)
Confused and outraged, Tai Lung laid waste to the Valley of Peace, cutting a swath of destruction in his fury before charging back to the Jade Palace to try and take the Dragon Scroll by force.

Still furious that Shifu had let Oogway's decision stand, Tai Lung did not hesitate to knock Shifu aside, shattering his hip before he leaped for the scroll. He was halted in midair by Oogway, who jabbed multiple pressure points in Tai Lung's chest, blocking his chi and knocking him out as Shifu watched in horror as the warrior he'd raised and trained fell before him.

When his feathers are displayed, he is approximately 6 feet tall. Without his crown and feathers, he is estimated to be around 140-145 cm (4 feet 7 inches to 4 feet 9 inches).
BACKSTORY 1(LORD SHEN)
Shen was born into the noble Peacock family of Gongmen City, who were admired by their people for their invention of fireworks. When Shen was young, he was allowed by his father to play near his throne, having been promised that he would inherit it someday. Despite already being in line to rule Gongmen city, Shen strived for even more power. While he was growing up, Shen showed an increasing interest in making weapons from the gunpowder used for the fireworks. Troubled, his parents asked their court soothsayer what his future held. She proclaimed that if Shen continued with his dark pursuits, he would be defeated by "a warrior of black and white". When Shen overheard this prophecy, he correctly assumed the "warrior of black and white" referred to a panda.
Fearing any obstacles in his plans, Shen led his army of wolf followers in decimating a farming village populated by pandas, intending to leave none alive and prevent the prophecy from happening. Shen personally took part in the raid, attacking any pandas he came across and ordering his soldiers around. At one point in the attack, Shen and two of his soldiers chased down a mother panda and her baby into a nearby forest surrounding the panda village. After the mother panda had hidden her child in a crate of radishes, she drew Shen and his troops' attention towards her, in which she was chased down and killed. Once the village had been fully put to the torch, Shen returned home filled with pride, expecting praise from his parents. However, his parents were horrified at their son's actions and exiled him from the city forever instead, with their throne eventually being turned over to the stewardship of Master Thundering Rhino and the Kung Fu Council after their deaths.
