Dream

The sun beat down mercilessly, turning the already filthy market into a stinking oven. Dream, the prince of positive emotions, felt this heat not only on his skin, but deep within his soul. He, accustomed to basking in the rays of universal love and hope, now stood on the platform like a strange beast, put up for sale.

The rough robe, the chain binding his movements – it was all a mockery of his former greatness. But the worst thing was seeing the slave trader's triumphant face. His smile, wide and false, cut like a jagged blade. "New! Unprecedented goods!" he shouted, poking Drem with a thick finger. "Prince of positive emotions! Only today and only from me!"

Curious glances seeped through the crowd. Some whispered, some mocked, and some simply stared at him like a curiosity. Dream tried not to show fear, but it seeped into every cell, paralyzing his will. Where had his strength gone? Where were those who had sworn eternal loyalty?

Suddenly, the crowd parted, letting a figure in a black cloak approach the platform. The stranger's face was hidden in shadow by a hood, but Dream felt a wave of cold and darkness emanating from him. The slave trader bowed obsequiously. "Sir, are you interested? I'm sure you'll like this merchandise." The stranger remained silent, his gaze fixed on Dream. In that gaze, there was more than just a lust for possession; something far more sinister.
