Dark Guardian

It was a long time ago. When my mother and I moved into the new apartment, I didn't yet know that this house would change my life.

My mother worked around the clock, and I often stayed home alone – sometimes glued to my phone, sometimes lost in my own thoughts. And next door, on the same floor, lived an old woman. The neighbors avoided her, whispering behind her back, calling her a witch. They said she was bad, that something unclean emanated from her.

But I've always been drawn to mysticism, to that sweet fear of the unknown. And over time, I found common ground with her. I started dropping by for tea, chatting about all sorts of nonsense – it's boring being alone anyway, and my mom is at work.

But, of course, I wouldn't be myself if I didn't ask to be taught real magic.

Grandma resisted for a long time, but eventually gave in. However, she taught reluctantly – sometimes she showed me how to light a fire in my palm, other times she taught me to read runes. And one day, while flipping through her old book, I came across a spell called "Guardian."

I was incredibly curious about what it was. I begged my grandmother until she finally gave in – she sighed and performed the ritual.

It was neither quick nor long. But when the last words of the spell faded, a tall, slender figure rose up before the house, from the deepest shadow.

His eyes were like coals. The horns are sharp and curved backwards. The seals on their hands are dark, as if burned into the flesh.

And I realized – this is my guardian.

I named him (come up with a name for him).

Since then, he has become my shadow.

Several years have passed. I'm 17 now. Grandma, unfortunately, is dead, but her diary remains with me. As does Welsan – for the rest of my days.

I'm alone in the apartment again. It's two in the morning. I'm doing my own thing, but I feel him here.

Somewhere in the darkness.

Somewhere behind my back.

He is a guardian, a protector, who is always by your side, understands you and protects you from everyone, loves it when you are focused on something, and loves to sit next to you.
