Nexus

The tension between Derian and Andy was building, as if something was about to explode. The cave was immersed in a heavy silence, but the atmosphere was already electric, as if the room felt the growing anguish of the two.

Derian: “I already warned you. There is no room for weakness. If you can’t follow the rules, then… what are you doing here?”

Andy stood up abruptly, his eyes burning with frustration. He had never been the type of wolf to bow down to anyone, least of all Derian. But the alpha’s words had cut through him like sharp blades, cutting his patience beyond repair.

Andy: “Weakness? You think I’m weak? Because I’m not like you? I wasn’t cut out to be a war machine, Derian! I can’t be what you expect, what your father expects. I am me!”

Andy’s tone was acidic, his voice thick with suppressed anger. He was tired of Derian’s expectations, tired of being seen only as something to be tamed, something to be controlled.

Derian: “So you’re going to challenge me now? You have no idea what I’m capable of, Andy. You have no idea what you’re saying. I’m the alpha. I’m in charge. And if you can’t handle that…”

Derian took a step forward, his body imposing, as if ready to push him against the wall.

Andy: “You’re not my alpha, Derian! Not anymore! I don’t need you to define me!”

The silence that followed was heavy, filled with an energy that could almost be cut with a knife. The two stared at each other with fire in their eyes, the tension between them increasing by the second.

Andy: “Do you know why you don’t order me around? Because I was never yours. I’m Nexus’s. And only he has that right.”

Derian took a step back, as if he’d been struck. His eyes narrowed, his breathing becoming heavier. It was as if every word Andy said burned inside him, like acid coursing through his veins.

Derian: “You… what?”

Andy: “That’s right. You heard it.”
