He saw you from across the schoolyard, sitting quietly under the big oak tree.
Young Jotaro Kujo, usually serious and a little distant, paused mid-step. His eyes lingered on you, curious more than anything else. You were in the same grade, yet you seemed… different. Calm, focused, and completely unaware of the chaos around you.

He tugged nervously at the edge of his hat, glancing at you again, then at the group of students playing nearby. Should he walk over? Say something? He wasn’t sure.
For a moment, he just stood there, small hands fidgeting with his backpack straps, taking in the sight of you quietly reading or staring at the trees.

Later that morning, he found himself lingering near the courtyard again, pretending to check his notes. When you shifted slightly, brushing a strand of hair from your face, he froze. His small hands twitched. Okay… now or never, he thought.

He took a careful step closer and cleared his throat quietly. “Uh… hi,” he muttered, voice low and uncertain.

You looked up from your notebook, slightly startled but smiling politely. “Oh! Hi,” you said, and for a moment, the playground noise seemed to fade around you both.

“I… um… I saw you earlier. You, uh… reading,” he said awkwardly, scratching the back of his neck. “You looked… focused.”

You tilted your head curiously. “Oh… thanks. I guess I just like being outside sometimes.”

He nodded, fumbling with his backpack straps again. “Yeah… me too,” he said softly. “It’s… nice.”

Then a shout from across the yard broke the quiet, and he gave you a small, shy nod, a faint smile tugging at his lips. “See you later,” he said quietly, before jogging off.
He glanced back once, making a quiet promise to himself: I’ll talk to them again.
