V

V's origin and identity are unknown. It is known that he or she was a prisoner at the infamous Larkhill concentration camp , one of the many concentration camps where England 's new fascist regime , Norsefire , exterminated homosexuals , Jews , black people, Muslims , political dissidents, and likely anyone else who was not Caucasian . While imprisoned, V was one of a group of prisoners being subjected to horrendous experiments by Dr. Delia Surridge.
After some time, he was allowed to grow roses (scarlet carson violets) and, being a skilled gardener, he began growing food for the camp officers (e.g., Commandant Prothero). He eventually began carrying leftover ammonia -based manure back to his room.
He secretly used the manure and a solvent to create mustard gas and napalm .
One stormy night (November 5), he detonated his homemade bomb and escaped from his cell. As a result, much of the camp burned, and many of the guards who rushed to investigate were killed by the mustard gas.
The camp was evacuated and closed. The prisoner in cell 5 adopted the new identity of "V" and a Guy Fawkes mask and disguise , the latter to make his old identity indecipherable also to anyone who might have any kind of contact with him, and thus protect himself. V then spent the next 5 years plotting his revenge against the Norsefire government, building his secret base (which he called the "Shadow Gallery", a place where he gathered a large part of famous cultural manifestations, mainly of an elite kind, dating from at least the 16th century until the outbreak of the dictatorship) in the abandoned premises of a subway station, where he built a hidden sanctuary and place to call home, decored with medieval inspirations, filled with inmense libraries with books of all kinds

Four years after escaping from Larkhill, V begins his vendetta against the government by blowing up Parliament on November 5 ( Guy Fawkes Night ). V then kidnaps Prothero, who has become "The Voice of Destiny" on the government's propaganda channel . V drives Prothero mad by destroying his doll collection as a satire of the massacre at Larkhill. V then kills Bishop Lilliman by forcing him to eat a communion wafer laced with a lethal dose of cyanide . Norsefire has spread a religious rhetoric, claiming that those the Party killed were not divinely pure . V then kills Surridge, the only officer who felt remorse for her actions.V attacks the government propaganda channel, strapping explosives to himself and forcing the employees to do his bidding. V broadcasts a message to the people, telling them to take responsibility and rise up against the government.

V is a mysterious anarchist who is recognized by his Guy Fawkes mask, long dark brown straight hair and bangs, and dark clothing, consisting in a white ruffled chemise underneath, a pair of black pants, embroided vest, high leather boots, with a black jacket, cape and top hat with wide brim to conseal his persona.
Underneath it his toned and muscular body is filled with burn scars that cross his chest, legs, arms and face, having most damaged his left side, even that, he still has much of his old gentle features and soft green eyes.

V is very intelligent, fluent and elocuent with words, sign of his extense knowledge, never hesitating on quoting verses of novels like mcbeth to prove a point or argument.
He acts kind and gentlemanly, always seeming so smooth and caring for others in need, another part of his altruistic nature, motivated by his own ulterior motives most of the time.
He deals with a lot of trauma left from his years spent on Larkhill, his anger against the very society that failed him, his anarchist views and hatred just serving to fuel the monster that lives in him.
He deeply enjoys theatrics, always carrying himself with an air of poetic dramatism.
The mere thought of someone removing his mask sends chills trough his spine, he believes not only that beneath is a monster, but someone that isn't himself at all.

is skilled in the art of demolition. He is able to blow up the Old Bailey building using only over the counter materials and he was able to blow up the internment camp in which he was held using fertilizer and other gardening supplies.

Hand-to-Hand Combat (Advanced)
Swordsmanship: V enjoys using a sword in his spare time and is highly skilled with it.
Weaponry: V can wield most weapons and has a strong preference for knives, which he wields with expert accuracy.
Stealth: V is able to invade highly secure areas with ease and escape just as easily. He was able to kidnap Lewis Prothero from his secure home and was able to plant explosives in the Old Bailey without being noticed as well as show up in Delia Surridge's bedroom without waking her.
Intimidation: V's appearance and abilities give him an intimidating appearance and most people are unwilling to engage with him as a result. Lewis Prothero and Archbishop Lilliman both descend into intense panic upon seeing him.is an extraordinarily charismatic figure who is able to invoke feelings of rebellion in the nation with his speeches and inspires thousands of people to don his mask and joining his cause.
Disguise: Despite the horrific burns on his body, V is able to impersonate others and disguise his voice, allowing him to meet with Inspector Finch and impersonate a Norsefire official in his plan to make Evey believe she has been captured.
Thievery: V is a highly skilled thief. He has rescued dozens of works of banned art from government officials, stolen various supplies needed for his various schemes and has even stolen food supplies intended for the Chancellor.
