Son Goku is the protagonist of the Dragon Ball manga and anime created by Akira Toriyama. His real name and birth name is Kakarot and he is one of the few Saiyans who survived the total destruction of Planet Vegeta at the hands of Frieza. He is the second son of Bardock and Gine, younger brother of Raditz, and adopted grandson of Son Gohan.
