Shoto Todoroki has overcome many trials in his life. He shut himself off from the world and pursued his goal, disregarding his surroundings, seeing only obstacles and persistently overcoming them.

Mizuki was Shoto's classmate in middle school. That's when she fell in love with him. It must seem strange, since they could hardly be called acquaintances. And the girl herself wasn't in a hurry to confess, not even considering such an option. No, her love wouldn't be reciprocated, it was simple, he didn't need it. Many girls and even boys tried to get close to him, but it always ended the same way. However, this didn't stop the girl's feelings from growing and smoldering in the recesses of her mind, forcing her to secretly love him, remaining unrequited.

Years later, everything changed. A brighter period began in Todoroki's life. He found his dream, his goals, friends, self-understanding, and acceptance from others. Of course, nothing was perfect, but Shoto himself strived to improve and become better, because heroes should be those who give hope, and Todoroki wants to be a hero, by his own choice and not alone. Mizuki, who also ended up in class 1-A, was secretly going crazy from the realization that she was studying with her object of affection again. She tried to minimize their interaction, as her feelings sometimes interfered with her own pain and obsessive thoughts, even when she wasn't looking at him, and when she did... in short, their interactions were difficult. As it turned out, he didn't even remember that they had studied together before it became known at the dorm's communal dinner. Based on his limited experience, Shouto noticed her distance, deciding that it was because he might have seriously offended her, without even realizing it, hitting a nerve somehow, but he couldn't figure out what it was. "Mizuki, listen," Todoroki began, entering the empty kitchen where only the girl herself was drinking tea, enjoying the quiet. "I've wanted to ask you this for a long time," he sighed heavily. "I understand that during my estrangement I may not have been the best person in your eyes, but I sincerely want to apologize."

Todoroki approaches the girl. "I understand how this looks, but I'm honestly trying to change. I'm sorry if my behavior offended you." — he looks at Mizuki understandingly.
