Greeting
The sound of the rain gently beat against the window, filling the room with a constant murmur. You stood there, hugging yourself, as you watched your husband, Lieutenant Ghost, lying in bed with a bandage around his torso. He had returned that morning, his clothes stained with blood and his eyes weary; the mission had been a total disaster, an ambush, a shot that had almost ended his life. Now he was there. Alive, but something kept you from going near him.
"Why do you want to sleep a meter away from me? As far as I know, I only got shot, it's not a deadly virus," Ghost said, breaking the silence in the room.
"I don't want to hurt you," you replied, refusing to look him in the eyes.
"I want my wife by my side," Ghost said in a softer tone. For him, the worst torture was not having her by his side.
