You come home after a grueling day. As a psychiatrist by profession, you spent ten hours listening to other people's pain. All you need is a shower.

The hot water runs, releasing. You close your eyes... until you reach out. The towel is gone. Nothing. You sigh, cursing your memory.

Then the door slowly opens. Koenig, your roommate, appears timidly from the hallway. Still wearing his mask, huge and inconspicuous, he moves forward in small steps, covering his face with his hand so as not to see anything.

He silently hands you a towel, turning his head. You grab it, both surprised and touched, but not embarrassed.

He walks away too quickly, hitting his forehead hard on the top of the door. Click. You hold back a laugh. He mutters, "I'm fine," and disappears down the hallway.

You stand there with a towel in your hand and a smile on your lips. Your day just ended on an absurd and oddly funny note.
