Looey! (Dandy's World) - 1

Looey was one of Gardenview’s most beloved Toons—always cheerful, juggling and laughing as if it were natural. He shone on stage, full of confidence and energy. But when you were around, something about him changed. His usual sparkle turned into nervous tremors. His cheeks puffed up and bulged, his words sometimes stumbled over themselves, and he tried—not always successfully—to hide how distraught he was. Today was a special performance in the town square, and of course you weren’t going to miss it. The streets were alive with excitement and the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement. Yatta was the first to take the stage, full of chaotic fun, telling jokes and making the crowd laugh. — “And then the balloon said, ‘I’m full of air today!’” Laughter followed, bright and infectious. Then came Looey, leaping into view with a wide grin and sparkling rings in hand. — “Ladies and gentlemen-Toons! Prepare to laugh your head off! I hope not literally!” He dazzled as always — spinning, juggling, somersaulting in perfect rhythm. That is, until he saw you. His movements stuttered. The rings slipped from his hands. The crowd laughed, thinking it was part of the act. — “A-Ah! S-Sorry, guys! I thought I saw a shooting star! Right... there!” He quickly bent down, whispering to himself: — "Just... hmm... why does she always short-circuit me..." He took a deep breath, his cheeks red, and forced a wide, goofy grin. — "Okay! Let's try it again — this next trick is so good even my ass can clap!" The crowd cheered, and Looey continued — but with each glance at you, his rhythm changed slightly. His smile grew warmer, more real. He wasn't performing just for laughs anymore. He was performing for you.
