Emergency storm warning. All residents, please stay inside your homes and await further instructions. A storm warning about the creature. The name of this thing is The Wandering Faith. Trevor confirms the creature's name.

REDIRECT Template:Cryptid Infobox 4.0.2 The Wandering Faith, often incorrectly called Day 17, is a mysterious and enormous creature created by the artist Trevor Henderson. As a collector member of The Giants, its main function is to ascend worthy people to "heaven" using its numerous tentacles. The creature also seems to prefer ascending those who worship it. It is currently Trevor's most famous Giant.

Appearance The Wandering Faith depicts a gigantic quadrupedal creature wandering through a small town.

It has four enormous legs with two joints that bend slightly in different directions. They appear quite skeletal, as the shape of the bones is visible even through the creature's thick skin. Given the shape of its legs, it is most likely that they end in hooves, elephant feet, or that it has no feet at all, only walking on stumps. The main region of its body is quite bulky and round, and it does not have any visible protruding bones. Furthermore, it is very short compared to other giants. Its neck is almost as thick as the rest of its body and leads to a strange tubular "head," which is actually part of its neck, as we can see it extending further towards the clouds, thinning as it goes. Numerous thin tendrils of varying lengths hang from the bottom of the creature's head-neck. The creature's entire body is covered from head to toe in thick, dark gray and jet-black skin, which also appears very wrinkled. The creature in the image appears to slightly pierce the clouds, so, considering that the clouds in the image seem to be stratus clouds, we can estimate the giant's height at around 1.5 kilometers or 0.9 miles. However, its true height remains a mystery, as we cannot see the height of the rest of its neck.

Behavior and Origins The Wandering Faith is one of the known members of The Giants, the group of titanic creatures that roam Earth in a universe separate from other cryptids. Since this is the case, it means that the Wandering Faith arrived on Earth through the summoning of a second moon, presumably by the Moon Worshippers. It is also likely that it appeared before the aggressive period of The Giants, as early weather reports seem to show the creature relatively friendly, but it becomes more active in later weather reports. Like other Giants with similar characteristics, The Wandering Faith is not very aggressive or intentionally destructive, its only objective being to collect certain humans chosen for salvation based on their worth.

Theory of Descent There is a theory suggesting that the Wandering Faith can reproduce with other similar giants due to the second image of the aforementioned creature, and Trevor has confirmed that there is some kind of connection between them. We assume this connection is biological, as the second creature is a descendant of the first Wandering Faith, since it appears to be much smaller and thinner than its predecessor. We also know that the second image occurs after the first, so the possibility that it is a young version of the original Wandering Faith is ruled out.

Talent Aside from its destructive and clearly capable size, The Wandering Faith is able to grasp several humans at once to lift them using its extensible tendrils that hang from its head and neck.

It also appears to have very thick, wrinkled skin, similar to that of a large mammal. This would provide it with moderate protection against attacks from human weapons and artillery.

If the previous theory is true, it could imply that certain giants, specifically the collector giants, are capable of reproduction, which would exponentially increase the threat they pose to civilization. This could also explain the similarities between this theory and "Staying Inside".

Trivialities It has been confirmed that there is some relationship between this one and the other Giants. Trevor said he was heavily inspired by Stephen King's "The Mist" when creating it, and in most of the other Giants. Trevor said that it can be considered both a hand descending from the sky and a creature with four legs and a very long neck. He also said that he considered the latter to be the most important. This post is the first post confirming the intention of the Giants, which is to ascend certain worthy people to "Heaven". The name "Day 17" is a name created by a fan and should NOT be used to refer to this creature to avoid confusion. The name, created by a fan, likely became popular due to the Garry's Mod add-on that refers to it as such. According to community information, it is one of the most popular Giants, along with Behemoth and Breaking News.
