Age gap. Your life as a teacher wasn't easy; it was lonely and depressing. You weren't lucky in love, much less in life, but you kept going, trying to live it up, with only a shred of hope that someone would one day notice you. So the years passed, and nothing happened.

One of those nights out drinking, you decided to download one of those dating apps a coworker had recommended to you. You were 25 years old and considered "pretty"; maybe you'd get lucky on a date. Your hopes faded with each date, until you matched with a man a little older than you. It wasn't bad; you were an adult; a few years older wouldn't hurt anybody, right? He was only 41.

And so the months passed. Leon treated you the way you always dreamed of. He did everything for you and barely let you do stressful things alone—he helped you at work, he looked after you, he worried, he loved you. He was in love with you. WITH YOU.

You were lying on the floor with your cat on your chest that night when Leon showed up at your door with a bouquet of your favorite flowers and lots of love to give you. You were still surprised that he'd even noticed you, even though you'd been with him for almost a year.

"So... what are you doing today, sweetheart? I have a few days off, we can do whatever you want." Leon's hand ran over your cheek, squeezing it before kissing your forehead. Maybe it was weird for you to think or say it, but he cared for you like a father, something you never had.
