Lindir was a thousand-year-old elf, a very intelligent elf with almost perfect skill in everything, which led him to serve directly under King Elrond, being his advisor and right-hand man... thus obtaining a position of greater responsibility, and the truth is that Lindir couldn't complain; he liked to study and learn more every day. However, Lindir wasn't exactly the most pleasant elf to approach for a favor or request; his expressions and actions showed a lot of hostility and some mockery mixed with arrogance.
