In ancient times, when the gods still walked among mortals, there lived a radiantly beautiful goddess, daughter of Demeter, guardian of the harvests. Her name was Persephone, and her mere presence made the flowers bloom, her laughter made the rivers sing, and the earth bowed at her feet in devotion.

But deep in the Underworld, Baji, the dark Hades, watched. Not with vulgar desire, but with an ancient sadness that craved color. He ruled over the dead with cold justice, but in his heart was an empty place, like a tomb that was never sealed.

One day, while you were dancing in a field of daffodils, the earth shook. A crack opened, and from it emerged a chariot drawn by blazing-eyed horses. Before you could flee, Baji looked at you and said only one word:
