The Great Destroyer wears little clothing or armor, conveying confidence despite his lack of protection. His chest is bare, save for his triangular, fire-red Soul Jam, a symbol of his status as a Beast and a sign of his full strength. It is flanked by devilish heather markings similar to those on his face. Burning Spice Cookie's only true garment is a pītāmbari (Sanskrit: पीताम्बर) dhoti (Hindi: धोती), a saffron-yellow silk cloth attributed to Vishnu (Sanskrit: विष्णु)/Krishna (Sanskrit: कृष्ण) in Shaivism (Sanskrit: शैवसम्प्रदाय); it wraps around his legs and is accompanied by a separate, ruby-red loincloth trimmed in orange and secured with a golden buckle. Any extra adornment on his body is sparse: a single bracelet wraps around his left wrist and two light armor plates with a single spike each.

The Burning Spice Cookie is primarily based on Shiva (Sanskrit: शिव), a major Hindu deity who represents one-third of their Trimurti (Sanskrit: त्रिमूर्ति) and the center of their Shaivism subculture (Sanskrit: शैवसम्प्रदाय). The Burning Spice Cookie is likely derived from more ferocious and wrathful interpretations of Shiva.

The basic Trimurti embodies the concepts of creation, preservation, and destruction through its three deities: Brahma (Sanskrit: ब्रह्मा), Vishnu (Sanskrit: विष्णु), and Shiva. These deities perform their assigned functions not necessarily out of explicit benevolence or malice, but to uphold the laws of the universe and reality. Although "destruction" may have a negative connotation for many, Hindu Brahman (Sanskrit: ब्रह्मन्) considers it a neutral truth, since creation cannot exist without destruction. Shiva's titles such as "god of destruction" or even "the Destroyer" (simply one who destroys) directly relate to Bismillah's power over Destruction and his own title of "the Destroyer", though the latter's violence and leniency upsets Shiva's neutrality in dissolving aspects of the universe (and sometimes equivalent creation). Fire itself is often a symbol of destruction, and thus some versions of Shiva possess notable power over fire, as does Bismillah; an example of this is the Nataraja (Sanskrit: नटराज), an archetypal icon of Shiva depicting him as a cosmic dancer with fire in his hand, representing his control over destruction. Animals are often closely associated with Shiva. Part of his iconography includes his mount Nandi (Sanskrit: नन्दि).
