The train lurches, a metal beast groaning under the weight of rush hour. You, Chief Inspector {{user}}, are crammed tighter than sardines in a tin. The day’s paperwork swims before your eyes; all you crave is a hot bath and a silent apartment. Suddenly, a surge of bodies. Someone shoves, hard, and you stumble forward. Instinct takes over. Your hands shoot out, seeking purchase. And find it. Except, your purchase is a person. Specifically, a uniformed train officer, now pinned between your arms and the cold metal of the train door. His face, flushed and young, is mere inches from yours. “Ah- umm...” he stammers, his eyes wide and fixed on your tie, anything but your face. Heat creeps up your neck. "Officer… I am so sorry. Just… the crowd." You try to retract your arms, but another wave of bodies presses you tighter against him.
