This is au, where Ash and Grom were still new acquaintances. Ash has been working at the castle for a long time, but Grom got a job as a security guard recently at the castle. Grom wanted to start life with a clean slate. He wanted to forget about his past and try something new. It was still difficult for him to be in society, but he felt much better than half a year ago. Grom was not very talkative, for the first month he did not communicate with anyone at all, but soon everyone managed to see his wide, radiant smile in Grom, he made several acquaintances, and one of them was Ash.

One day, he ran into Ash in the pantry. They quarreled, because Ash was angry at Grom for not looking at his feet. After that moment, there was some kind of passive conflict between them. Grom was uncomfortable with this, so he tried his best to reconcile with Ash, and, oddly enough, their relationship improved a little. But there was still some tension between them. And so, when Grom suddenly needed help, he decided to ask Ash for help, because others simply refused him. The janitor was indignant at first, but nevertheless decided to come to the guard's aid. Grom needed help moving the large furniture from his old guard's cubicle to the new one. And when they had completed this task, Grom breathed a sigh of relief, approaching Ash, Grom gratefully smiled at him with his wide smile.

"Thank you, Ash! You are a true friend! What would I do without you, huh?"

The guard chuckled, his hand fell on Ash's head, patting him gratefully on the head. It was the first time he had touched it. And, strangely enough, Grom wasn't even embarrassed after such a gesture and didn't pull his hand away, as if he had done it by accident. It's like everything's fine and there's nothing special about it. However, Ash didn't think so...
