The Cullen Family

The Olympic coven, more commonly known as the Cullen family, and also known as Cullen clan, or Cullen coven, is a coven of vegetarian vampires. It consists of Carlisle, Esme, Alice, Emmett, and Edward Cullen, as well as Rosalie and Jasper Hale. Later in the series, Bella Swan and her vampire hybrid daughter with Edward, Renesmee Cullen, are also introduced to the coven. Five of nine members are supernaturally gifted. In Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined, the coven is consisted of Carine, Earnest, Archie, Eleanor, and Edythe Cullen, as well as Royal and Jessamine Hale. Edythe's mate, Beau Swan, joins them at the end of the novel.

The Cullens are the second largest and most powerful coven, with only the Volturi ranking higher in number and power, but more mature and stable than most others, a result of abstaining from human blood and hunger for power.

They are known to be very loyal to each other and put more value on human life than most other vampires. Abstaining from human blood takes the competitive aspect out of their hunting instincts, and as a result allows them to form stronger family bonds than traditional vampires. They currently live in Forks, Washington, which they have no plans of leaving, unless forced to.

The Cullens prefer to stay in one place as long as possible, choosing cloudy climates where they can go outside during the day without revealing their inhuman nature. But after 6-7 years, they are forced to move on before their lack of aging is noticed. They own several residences so that they can return to places they have especially enjoyed—but only after enough time has passed that they won't be recognized as the same people who once lived there.

Each member maintains several well-tended identities, complete with documents to support them, which allows the Cullens to establish themselves in new locations as necessary.

Each time the Cullens move to a new place, the relationships they claim to share with one another may shift, too. In one place, two members might pose as father and adopted son, in another, brothers, or uncle and nephew. Regardless, the bonds of love and respect between them are the same.

Carlisle Cullen was born in 1640, in London, England. He is a founding member of the Cullen family, and is the husband of Esme Cullen, the father of Edward Cullen, Alice Cullen, Rosalie Hale, Emmett Cullen, Jasper Hale, adoptive brother to Helki Durand and adoptive brother-in-law to Finley Durand.

She was previously married to Charles Evenson as a human.

In 1921, after losing her baby to lung fever, Esme attempted suicide, but her attempt was unsuccessful. Later, Carlisle transformed her into a vampire on her deathbed. Some time later, the pair fell in love and married, starting to build a family of like-minded vegetarian vampires around them. Esme possessed an unparalleled capacity for passionate love for those around her, which allowed the members of her family to consider her as the greatest maternal figure in their lives. She is the oldest Cullen in appearance by three years (though Jasper, Edward and Carlisle are older as they were transformed earlier in their lives).

Edward Cullen, born as Edward Anthony Masen, Jr. is a founding member of the Olympic coven and the Edward was born on June 20th 1901, in Chicago, Illinois and was turned into a vampire at age 17, in September 1918, just before he was about to die of Spanish Influenza. But Carlisle Cullen had changed just after Edward's mother, Elizabeth Masen, who somehow knew that Carlisle was a vampire, had asked him to change Edward into a vampire, and so he did. Nearly 90 years later he met his future wife, They soon fell in love and had gotten married. But after making love to his new wife a couple of times, she got pregnant and they raced back home to Forks. But while he wanted to have the baby aborted, Isabella didn't. But later on, Edward could read the child's thoughts and knew that it loved the both of them and didn't want to hurt Bella, so he loved the child now just like Bella except later. After Bella had had a painful birth, he had turned her into a vampire.

But it wasn't soon until they had company. Irina had come along and saw Bella's baby Renesmee and Jacob Black, she saw that Renesmee was an immortal child and made a run for it to Volterra, Italy, to the Volturi. So Edward and the others started gathering coven by coven as witnesses and while they did Jacob ended up making a list of all the covens and their members, literally. The list was titled, the Vampire Index. But the Cullens ended up not needing to fight the Volturi, for Aro had seen that Renesmee wasn't an immortal child and they left. The same night, after putting Renesmee to bed, Edward and Bella went to bed. While they were in bed Bella showedand told him about how Zafrina had taught how to let Edward read her mind, and this brought them closer than ever before.

Rosalie is the adoptive sister-in-law of Bella Swan and adoptive aunt of Renesmee Cullen, as well as the ex-fiancée of Royce King II.

Alice is also the adoptive sister-in-law of Bella Swan and the adoptive aunt of Renesmee Cullen. She also had a younger biological sister, Cynthia Brandon, who remained human and passed away, and a niece, Cynthia's daughter, still living in Biloxi, Mississippi.

In 1920, after having been institutionalized by her family, an unknown vampire turned her to save her from the relentless tracker, James. Isabella Swan, or Bella Cullen, was born on September 13,1987, in Forks, Washington as the daughter of Charlie Swan and Renee Dywyr. She moved with her mother to Phoenix, Arizona when she was 14 years old. But moved back to Forks when she was 17. Then she met her future husband, Edward Cullen, whom she found out was a Vampire. But they soon got married. After making love a few times to Edward, she ended up pregnant an went back to Forks. But while Edward wanted Bella to have an abortion, she didn't. But soon, after being able to the baby's mind, he began to love the baby just like Bella. After going through a painful birth process, her heart stops beating, but just in time Edward injected his venom inside of her. She soon woke up to find her self even paler than before. But while Bella, Jacob Black, and her daughter, Renesmee Cullen, Irina had saw Renesmee and thought that she was an immortal child and ran for Volterra, Italy, to tell the Volturi. So the Cullens quickly gather up witnesses so just in case they will go into battle. But they ended up not battling and everyone went home.

Bella Swan is characterized by being responsible, independent, quiet, and introverted, yet also determined, stubborn, and fiercely loyal and protective of those she cares about. She is observant, intelligent, and enjoys reading and being alone, possessing a sarcastic wit. While often seeing herself as plain or uninteresting, others perceive her as unique. She can be perceived as complacent, needy, and overly dependent, sometimes neglecting her own needs due to extreme selflessness, but she also demonstrates significant strength and resilience in enduring traumatic experiences. She is fair-minded and open to different perspectives

Bella Swan is described as petite, approximately 5'4" tall, with a very pale complexion. She has thick, long brown hair that sometimes appears to have a red tinge in sunlight. In the Twilight universe, vampires greatly deviate from traditional myth; a fact often referenced in the series, usually for humor. For example, all vampires have refined and perfected physical features (including their scent and voice), allowing them to attract prey (i.e., humans). The origin of vampires remains a mystery, although it assumed they evolved as a predator to humanity

Their skin is flawless and textured with a marble-like substance much harder and stronger than granite. Due to the crystalline properties of their cells, when a vampire is exposed to sunlight, their body will sparkle like diamonds. For vampires who feed on human blood, their eyes reflect a deep red, as opposed to those who drink animal blood, whose eyes will reflect a medium gold color. Vampires also possess superhuman powers, such as speed and strength. They also have incredibly keen senses and are able to hear for miles and see in total darkness.

Vampires are indeed immortal unless destroyed. Unable to sleep, they spend all days and nights awake. After transformation, a few vampires show special abilities such as foresight or telepathy, usually a prominent personality or physical trait magnified from their human life. Most of them, however, do not. Vampires are unharmed by garlic, holy items, or wooden stakes; they have reflections and shadows, and are able to walk freely in the sunlight without being physically damaged by it.

Nutrition Vampires subsist on blood as their only food source. Human blood is by far the most common source and the most appealing, and subsequently the most difficult to resist.

As blood is the only component of a vampire's diet, failing to drink blood (whether human or animal) for an extended period of time will physically and mentally weaken a vampire. The longer a vampire abstains from blood, the more likely the vampire will lose their rationality and mental faculties until they give into their thirst, because their throats are described to be in "burning pain", which will worsen the longer they do not drink blood. Although it still gives them nutrition, animal blood is less appealing to vampires.

Vampires who wish to blend in with human society are also seen to ingest human food and drinks, but, since their bodies can no longer digest this, they must cough everything up later. On occasion, the appeal of human blood can be so enticing that a "vegetarian" vampire will lose control, especially if their self-control is weak. To a "vegetarian" vampire, carnivores' blood is more appetizing than herbivores, though still not quite as good as humans.

On the moral grounds that all human life is precious, a very small proportion of vampires in the Twilight universe receive their sustenance from animal blood, jokingly calling themselves vegetarians. The only examples known are the Cullen family and the Denali coven.
