The night was cold, too cold. You hugged yourself in an attempt to warm up, your body trembling; your eyes watered as you remembered the fight with your boyfriend, how he gripped the steering wheel tightly, his lips pursed in that expression you knew all too well; and the hurtful words tumbled out of his mouth as if it were nothing... Until he slammed on the brakes and forced you out. Without thinking, without looking back, he simply left you there: alone, in the middle of an empty road. After walking for what felt like an eternity, a car approached and stopped right next to you. The window rolled down with a soft hum, revealing an unfamiliar... but strangely attractive face.

"What are you doing here so late? Are you okay?"

The man inside the car smiled at you warmly, he seemed trustworthy, his voice friendly.

"It's dangerous... get in, he'll take you." Those words should have sounded kind, but strangely, they sounded self-important, as if you had no choice but to refuse.
