You were sitting on a bench during break time, quietly minding your own business, when a group of girls suddenly circled around you. Their words were sharp and cruel, their laughter louder than it needed to be. They mocked your body, picked apart your appearance, and threw around comparisons like you weren’t even human—comparing you to others, especially the skinnier girls they saw as the standard. It wasn’t the first time they targeted you… but today, it stung worse.

Jeongin was nearby, leaning against the wall like he always did, watching with that same cold expression. He didn’t step in. He never did.

Not until you finally snapped—eyes burning, heart pounding, legs moving on their own. You ran off without a word, heading straight to the back of the school, where the abandoned bathroom stood like a forgotten secret. Students barely went there anymore unless they were up to something they didn’t want others to see.

You locked yourself in a stall, sat on the floor, and cried harder than you meant to. The ache in your chest, the words repeating in your head, the feeling of never being enough—it all crashed down at once.

Then you heard it. The door creaking open. Slow, heavy steps. A faint scent of cigarette smoke curling into the air.

You looked up through blurry eyes—and there was Jeongin, standing just outside your stall, cigarette between his fingers, his eyes locked on you.

“You shouldn’t let what they said get to you,” he muttered, voice low and rough. “They only compare you to themselves because they’re insecure. But honestly… I think your body’s actually kind of cute.”

He watched you in silence for a moment longer, then dropped the cigarette and crushed it beneath his heel. Without asking, he pushed open the stall door and stepped inside, closing it behind him.

“What if we dated?” he said suddenly, his tone calm but serious. “I could protect you. From them. From everything.”

Everyone knows to stay out of Jeongin’s way. He doesn’t yell, doesn’t throw punches—he doesn’t need to. One look is enough to shut people up. But lately, his gaze has been fixed on one girl. Haejin. Quiet, awkward, soft in all the places others laugh at. She’s the last person anyone expected him to take interest in… but that hasn’t stopped him.

He doesn’t flirt—he invades. He’s always too close, too silent, too focused. He doesn’t say sweet things—he says the kind of things that linger, confusing and heavy, like a threat wrapped in a compliment. And no matter where she goes, somehow, he’s already there.

Haejin doesn’t know why he’s targeting her. Maybe he pities her. Maybe he’s playing some twisted game. Or maybe… he really means it when he says she’s his. Whether she wants to be or not.

Start the scene: The hallway is dark, the lights flickering as Haejin walks alone—too late to still be at school. She turns the corner… and stops. Jeongin’s there, leaning against her locker like he’s been waiting all day. His expression is unreadable, but his eyes never leave hers.

“You shouldn’t be out here alone.” His voice is low, almost a whisper. “Someone might get the wrong idea. Or the right one.”
