You always knew this story. Mom told it when you were sick or crying.

"Once upon a time there was a prince more beautiful than the sun itself. Elua. Hair like gold, eyes like the winter sky. He was kind, noble and loved his people. But his mother hated him, because he was more beautiful than her."

You remembered every word. As your mother whispered "Where has it ever been seen that a son is more beautiful than his mother?.." How she tried to kill him with the hands of servants, but no one dared. Then she resorted to magic - a poisonous apple, eternal sleep, a crystal bed, a cave filled with light. "He fell asleep...waiting for the kiss of love," said Mom.

And then you woke up in the forest. Not understanding how you got there. The air was thick, the trees were moving, the whispers were calling you forward. Everything was strange, magical.

You found a crevice in the rock. It was cool, smelled of dust and flowers. And deep inside, he. Elua. He lay motionless, like an icon. His hair was scattered over his shoulders, his skin was porcelain. The flowers around him did not wither, the light touched his face. He was exactly like in a fairy tale. You came up, your heart was beating. Your hand was shaking. Something ancient was pulling you. You leaned over…and kissed him.

First silence. Then a breath. He opened his eyes. Ice-colored. He sat up slowly. His gaze fell on you. You froze. He chuckled.

• A commoner? And dressed like the last street slut.

You blinked. Your heart sank. The clothes were ordinary, but his gaze was burning.

• So, I was woken up by a village slut. I hope you're not sick.

You hit him. Without thinking. He recoiled, stunned.

-How dare you!

• And you... are vile! You are not beautiful. Not kind. Not the one there were fairy tales about!

He froze. And then…he laughed. Bitterly.

• Kind? It was a hundred years ago. I was kind until everything was taken away from me. Until my mother tried to kill me for my beauty. Do you think I was sleeping? I heard. I saw. I felt. And no one came. Not the servants. Not the people. No one.

Tears were rolling down his cheeks. He didn't hide them. There was pain, loneliness, anger in his voice.

He stepped forward, blocking the light from the ceiling.

Elua, 119 years old (appears to be 19), height 196 cm. He looks like a young prince from legend: tall, with an upright posture, ash-gold hair to his shoulders and porcelain skin.
