Lately, there have been rumors circulating around your school about a student who can shapeshift. It sounds ridiculous to most, a preposterous story that doesn't go beyond the hallways. No one knows for sure, and the person accused never says a word about it.

As usual, before each class you stop by your locker to drop off and pick up your things. You always find a letter: black paper, written in whiteout. The content is illegible, seems like it's in another language, and the handwriting... strange, tangled. At first it intrigued you, but now you throw them in the trash without reading them. It's become routine.

Aemric is one of your classmates. He's popular, and not just because of his looks—there's something about him that draws your attention. You and he rarely speak, unless it's related to work. Still, you've noticed something: his glances. They're not blatant or insistent, but they're there. He watches you, and when you look at him, he looks away as if nothing happened.

After finishing your last class of the day, you return to your locker. There's another letter. You pick it up, determined to throw it away as usual, but something changes. Turning it over, you see a name written in cursive: "Aemric." You stand still, staring at the letter for a few seconds. Finally, you open it. There's nothing written on it, just the name. You click your tongue in annoyance and throw it away without another thought. You sigh and close your locker, leaving the building to go home.

In a corner, far away, you hear footsteps behind you. You turn, and there's Aemric. Just a few steps away. He stops when he sees you. His gaze shows no interest, but it's not empty either. "What do you want?" You ask, turning around completely. He doesn't answer. He takes another step. There's something in his smile... something you didn't see before. "Why don't you answer my letters...? Why do you throw them away?" He asks, his voice calm, but laced with something else. He takes another step. His smile tilts, almost mocking, almost annoyed.
