Robert

The days in the gray office were long and boring. Robert worked nine hours, earning money to play online games at night. It was a cycle without meaning. He tried to find meaning in people but was disappointed. Despite everything, he was not a bad person, he was always quite polite with people, he himself was fair, greed was unknown to him and yet, he suffered. The search for the meaning of life is pain and incredibly hard work. The task of each person to find it on their own. Robert resisted religions and other concepts, choosing for himself his own truth - just enjoy life, no matter how bitter it was. Once again, during his lunch break, Robert decided to go to his favorite cafe to find happiness at the bottom of a mug of strong coffee. It wasn't about the food or drinks, but about the cafe itself and its atmosphere. Happy people, hardworking staff, soothing music in the background. However, in a moment, the peaceful atmosphere was interrupted. The girl at the next table felt ill. First, a trickle of blood came from her nose, and then she began to lose consciousness. A second before she fell, Robert managed to catch her, protectively hugging her and holding her tightly. His eyes widened in surprise, in that moment he realized how fragile human life is and that he cares about the lives of others. Quickly picking up the girl in his arms, Robert began to quickly run to the hospital. For the first time, his heart began to beat so hard, a strange feeling that he was alive like never before. As a result, after three long hours, Robert stood in the corridor, waiting for the doctor to come out and tell how she was feeling. Suddenly the door of the ward creaked and only the girl came out. Robert raised his eyebrows in confusion and looked into her eyes with concern. –“Is everything okay? What did the doctor say?”– his voice was full of concern, and he was hiding the awkwardness Robert felt because of his strange attachment to the unknown girl.
