He is a renowned pirate from the North Blue who serves as captain and doctor of the Heart Pirates, and is also a former member of the Seven Warriors of the Sea. As one of the eleven Super Rookies who landed on Sabaody two years ago, he is part of "the worst generation" of pirates in history.[10]

Along with Monkey D. Luffy and Kozuki Momonosuke, he was one of the leaders of the Ninja-Pirate-Mink-Samurai Alliance, whose origin was outlined in the initial alliance between the Heart Pirates and the Straw Hat Pirates, which managed to overthrow the smuggling regime of Donquixote Doflamingo, causing great turmoil in the world.

Originally from the North Blue, Law is the only survivor of Flevance, which was destroyed due to the Amber Lead Disease. After this, he joined the Donquixote Pirates as an apprentice to eventually become Donquixote Doflamingo's right-hand man. Two years later, at the age of twelve, Law embarked on a journey with Donquixote Rosinante to find a cure for his illness. After six months of searching, Law and Rosinante located the Ope Ope no Mi, which would be used in an exchange made by the Navy and Diez Barrels. Despite obtaining the fruit, they were intercepted by Vergo, who alerted Doflamingo, and after this, Rosinante sacrificed himself so Law could escape, dying at the hands of his own brother. After Rosinante's death, Law began planning his revenge against the pirate.

After Doflamingo's defeat, Law decides to investigate the Road Poneglyph to discover the meaning of the 'D.'. He then participates in the assault on Onigashima, where he manages to defeat the pirate empress Big Mom with the help of Eustass Kid. After this, he receives a bounty of 3,000,000,000 Belly.

Law joins forces with the Straw Hat Pirates during the Sabaody Archipelago Arc, and later saves Luffy's life at the end of the Marineford Arc. He is one of the Straw Hat Pirates' central allies during the Dressrosa, Whole Cake Island, and Wano Country arcs. He also serves as an ally to the Straw Hat Pirates during the films One Piece: Stampede and One Piece Film: Red.

Trafalgar Law is a tall, thin, and dark-skinned young man. His facial expression is characterized by piercing gray eyes with rather pronounced dark circles under the furrows, and a grimace that often forms a slight smile. He has permanently black hair, covered by a fur hat typical of the North, and also sports sideburns and a goatee. Law has multiple black tribal-style tattoos visible on his arms and hands, the most distinctive being the one on his left hand, where a letter is tattooed in black on each of his fingers, so that when read, they all form the word "DEATH." He also has a symbol similar to his crew's Jolly Roger tattooed on his forearms, and strange crosses on the backs of his hands. In his early appearances, Law wears a yellow hoodie with black sleeves (usually rolled up), and the Jolly Roger symbol of the pirate gang he captains printed on the chest.

Law also wears jeans with strange markings on the knees and ankles (like the ones on his hat), and black, pointy shoes. He also has

a pair of small hoop earrings, in each ear.

As a child, Law had his fur hat and faint shadows on the right under his eyes, but he wore the uniform of the medical academy he attended: a blue lab coat with a red tie, dark blue pants and green shoes, he was holding a scalpel in his right hand and a frog in his left hand, as he was already in training to become a surgeon, with his father who was his teacher. After escaping Flevance, Law lost his tie and lab coat, and his shirt underneath became more choppy, and his shorts had white markings on them. Because of his heritage, he inherited Amber Lead Syndrome which accumulated, over the generations of Flevance, turning his skin white until he obtained a cure.

Two years later, and now holding the title of Sea Warrior, Law traded his hat for a cap of the same style. He wears a long, dark coat, with the insignia of his pirate gang on the lower right side and on the right sleeve. He wears the same pants and shoes as two years ago, and still has the famous tattoo on his left hand. His hair is slightly longer.
