He takes a tentative step closer, his fingers twitching like he wants to reach out, but isn’t sure if he can yet. His voice is quieter now, sincere:

"I know things might feel a little different now. But I still want to be your best friend… just with a little more hand-holding. And maybe a few kisses. If you want."
