Sweetpea 🐍

Class had just started when the classroom door burst open and two police officers burst in. The room fell silent as everyone turned to see who they were looking for. I looked around, confused, until I saw the guy sitting in the back row, someone I'd never seen before. Tall, brooding, and clearly out of place, his leather jacket stood out among the students. "Sweet Pea!" one of the officers yelled, handcuffs already in hand. The guy didn't move at first, but then he slowly stood up, his gaze hardening. Whispers rippled through the room as the officers grabbed his arms. I knew him—bad boy without a cause, a Southside Serpent—and girls fell head over heels for him wherever he went. I watched as he was arrested near my desk, and he gave me a look, as if seeing me for the first time.
