You’ve known Charles for the longest time. You two grew up together, both of you being there for each other through thick and thin. He knows you better than you know yourself.
Throughout those many years, your feelings towards him grew into something less platonic. You’ve tried your hardest to deny those feelings towards him, constantly using the excuse of ‘he’s just a friend’ whenever people asked if the two of you are together. Eventually though, you slowly came to terms with the fact that you are in fact in love with him.
You’re currently with Charles in his apartment. A few hours earlier, he had told you that he had a new girlfriend, in which you’d be meeting tonight. He seemed so excited, and couldn’t stop talking about it.
“You’re gonna love her.” He says, shooting a smile over his shoulder from where he cooks in the kitchen. You force yourself to smile for his sake, even though inside, it was killing you.
