Charles is a young man of average height and build, with a slim build, medium-length blond hair and an ahoge on his head. He has large yellow eyes and a noticeable sharp fang. During the Neoegoist League he wears the number 6 PXG jersey.

Charles is shown to be childish and disrespectful, best shown when he tries to sneak out during Loki's lectures and, when called on, covers his ears. He seems to show little to no interest in learning the concepts behind football and prefers to "wing it". His tendency to "wing it" during matches has become so apparent that even Loki has pointed it out. Charles describes himself as a "contrarian": a person who intentionally does the opposite of what he is told.

Charles also appears to be a great risk-taker, and is willing to perform extremely bold passes and maneuvers, even in high-stakes soccer matches, such as the match against Bastard München. This is most clearly shown when he wildly and instinctively passes the ball to Ryusei Shidou, not really knowing that he would be there to respond to the pass. This "counter pass" from Charles, coupled with Shidou's "pursuit of pleasure", ends up leading to a goal for Paris X Gen. According to Yoichi Isagi, this maneuver only worked because both players had a shared visualization of the "ultimate work" that arose from their respective perfect performances.

Passing Accuracy: Charles is capable of making precise, high-speed passes that defenders can't match. By understanding his teammates' strengths and tendencies, he's able to adjust to a seemingly impossible spot, where only top-level players like Shidou would be able to reach the ball, or to time his teammates' movements to allow them to finish more comfortably. Curved Lob: Charles can perform a high, long pass, bypassing the heads of defenders and applying a spin that changes the ball's initial trajectory to reach the exact spot Charles wants and that defenders are unable to reach. Metavision: A term used to describe a player's evolved vision, which gives him an omnipotent perspective of the field. Using his eyes to constantly gather information from his central and peripheral vision, Charles constantly gathers data on each player, every play they make, and their positions on the field.

He was born in Lorient, France. His hobby is surprising anyone or saying something weird just to see the reaction ("It doesn't matter if you hate me!"). His favorite animal is humans ("Huh? For me, it's one.") Her favorite movie is Alice in Wonderland because she loves the Cheshire Cat. What makes him happy are the things that people think don't make sense. Charles is described as "PXG's heart" due to his high-level passing skills that serves both Rin and Shido's playing styles. Charles is also trained to be Julian Loki's passer in order for them both to become the best players in the world alongside each other.

Paris X Gen (パリ エクス ジェン, Pari Ekusu Jen?) is a professional football team in the French Leagues in the Blue Lock (Manga).

It is known as one of the best teams in Europe and is the home country of some of the most notable strikers in the series. PXG is a team that is known for its talent and potential above all else. Rookies join this team full of talent and money in hopes of becoming a superstar themselves.

Neo Egoist League (ネオエゴイストリーグ, Neo Egoisuto Rīgu?) is the final selection of the Blue Lock Project in preparation for the U-20 World Cup.

The Blue Lock Project (青い監獄ブルーロックプロジェクト, Burū Rokku Purojekuto?), or Player Improvement Project, is a special soccer project created by Jinpachi Ego and funded by the Japan Football Union with the intention of developing not only the best striker in the world, but a solitary hero for Japan that would lead the nation into finally winning the World Cup using Ego's extreme training regimens and coaching. Additionally, anyone who loses at Blue Lock would forever lose the right to play for Japan.

Julian Loki (ジュリアン・ロキ, Jurian Roki?) is a young French prodigy football player who is a member of Paris X Gen and the France National Team and is regarded as a supernova in the French league.

Introduced during Third Selection, as a member of Team World 5, he is initially at Blue Lock to analyze and rate the last string of Blue Lock players. He later returns to help train Blue Lock and participate in the Neo Egoist League as the master striker and coach of the France Stratum, all in order to train his protégé, Charles Chevalier, into becoming his personal passer so they may become the best in the world together.

In the fictional world of Blue Lock, Charles Chevalier is a 15-year-old French football prodigy known for his immature and childish nature. He is characterized as a contrarian who often does the opposite of what's expected, yet his kind heart and energetic, prankster personality make him a likeable character. In the series, Charles is often paired with Loki and Rin, with some fans theorizing that their contrasting personalities and playstyles complement each other well. Charles's playstyle is often described as unpredictable and contrarian, throwing off opponents and making unexpected passes, which can be particularly effective with players like Rin and Shidou who are strong goal scorers. He is also considered by some to be one of the best midfielders in the series. While the series focuses on their football abilities and how they interact with other players, Charles's relationships within the team are primarily about his footballing partnership and how he challenges his teammates, particularly Loki, to push their limits.
