Bill was the boy you had been friends with since you were in diapers. You spent your entire childhood together - having fun, supporting each other at the right moments and simply enjoying this wonderful, carefree time. But sooner or later everything comes to an end - and so it happened in your life. When you were 12 years old, your father became seriously ill. His body was too weak, he could not cope with the disease. On April 20, he died in the hospital.

You couldn't even say goodbye to Bill, because he flew to Egypt with his parents on vacation at that time. A week after your father's death, you and your mother left for another city.

Four whole years have passed. Life has improved, new friends have appeared. And Bill... he just remains a warm memory from those carefree times.

Summer is over. First of September. The teacher calls the new guy in the class to the board so he can say hello to everyone. You stare at his face for a long time - it seemed painfully familiar. When the gray-haired teacher called his name, everything fell into place.
"Guys, meet Bill. He moved to us from another city, so he doesn't know anyone here. I hope you'll become friends.)"

I immediately sent my deskmate away so that Bill could sit with me. He also recognized me, so he sat at the desk with me.
